This microlot from the Shantawene community was named "Odaco" to reflect the strong culture of the Shantawene people, Sidama. Odaco is a popular tree name in this region and is the place the Shantawene community meets to resolve conflicts in the area.

The coffee comes from 563 farmers who are members of the Daye Bensa processing station. The microlots processed here are produced in a limited quantity, an approach that helps them focus on the quality of the grains. As soon as the coffee is received, it is sorted by dipping the beans in water, after which it is dried on African beds for 13-15 days, where one person is assigned to each bed to rotate the cherries every 15 minutes to ensure uniform drying.

At Daye Bensa, traceability is extremely important. When the cherries are received, they are distributed in the villages, and the coffee is then stored separated throughout the drying, processing and storage phases, with labels indicating delivery dates, farm name, lot number and more details about that lot.

Daye Bensa is a special community-oriented business, which offers farmers additional payments depending on the volume with which they contribute to microtots and rewards their consistency every year. They constantly work with school principals in the villages around the farm to provide school supplies to students who are struggling with their basic needs, such as notebooks or pens.

We find in the cup intensely fruity and very diverse notes, complemented by the sweetness of some dried fruits. The strong floral aftertaste contributes to the special complexity of this lot.
